Featured is an instructive rapid chess game between Faustino Oro and Ante Brkic from Round 1 of the 2025 FIDE World Cup. Out of the Colle System, play quickly sharpens after c5. By move 11, we reach what is essentially a reversed Semi-Slav, Noteboom variation, where White has two connected passed pawns and Black has one. A critical moment arises after Oroβs 14. Nfd2, as Blackβs reaction allows Oro to establish a superb knight outpost on c4, a piece that goes on to dominate the game.
