During the 2025 U.S. Chess & U.S. Women’s Championship, the sudden passing of GM Daniel Naroditsky deeply affected everyone in the chess community. At the closing ceremony, Rex Sinquefield spoke with heartfelt emotion about Daniel’s legacy and the inspiration he brought to so many.
Rex Sinquefield said: “He [Daniel Naroditsky] was a friend of the Club and the World Chess Hall of Fame for a long time, and many in the chess community and abroad. And our hearts are with those who Daniel inspired, his Charlotte Chess Club, his loving parents. May we all find peace as his spirit lives on.”
