Alekhine’s A+ Finale vs A Fletcher

Featured is an aesthetic chess game between World Champion Alexander Alekhine and A. Fletcher, played in London, 1928 during a simultaneous exhibition. Alekhine opens with the English, and Fletcher’s early 3…Nc6 allows Alekhine to seize a slight lead in development and a long-term positional edge with a powerful d5-pawn. After Alekhine’s 13th move Rae1, it becomes clear that a direct attack is brewing against Fletcher’s king. What follows is a brilliant tactical sequence, where a knight and bishop combine to execute a windmill that leads straight to checkmate!

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
