Featured is a sharp chess game between Maxim Rodshtein and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave from round 8 of the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss. The game begins with an Anti-Grünfeld featuring 3.f3 and quickly transposes into a Benoni structure after just 9 moves. As play unfolds, Rodshtein does not manager to coordinate another piece/pawn with his queen on h6. As a result, it’s just an out-of-play piece. MVL’s precise rook lift from a7 to e7 is a key maneuver, preventing White from comfortably castling kingside. The final combination by Maxime is certainly aesthetic!
