Featured is an instructive chess game between Robert Hovhannisyan and Anish Giri from round 1 of the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss. The game sees a Sicilian Najdorf, English Attack, where Hovhannisyan opts for 8. f4 instead of the usual f3, aiming for a sharp g4–g5 pawn storm. After 10. g4, the position becomes critical, and Giri spends around 17 minutes finding the precise way to meet this early aggression. By his 16th move, Rc8, Giri has established a comfortable position despite being unable to castle. His rock-solid center acts as a perfect safe haven for his king.
