With Fabiano Caruana, R Praggnanandhaa, and Wesley So tied after regulation, a blitz round robin was in order. Pragg beat Fabi, Wesley beat Pragg, and so Caruana would have to beat Wesley in this game to tied it all again and force an armageddon stage. Any result for Wesley would clinch it for himself.
