Adams Breaks the Najdorf in 20 Moves

This is an instructive chess miniature between Michael Adams and Jack Rudd from Round 3 of the 2025 British Chess Championship, played on August 4th. The game begins with the Sicilian Najdorf, and after the central exchange 11. exd5, important pawn majorities surface. In many positions, pawn moves carry great strategic weight, and after Rudd’s 13th move, his position is already beyond repair. This short game offers valuable lessons in structure and timing.
