Here’s a funny moment from the game between Magnus Carlsen and Ernesto Inarkiev at the World Blitz championship 2017. Carlsen sacrificed his rook and gave a check to Inarkiev’s king. However, Inarkiev made an illegal move by giving a check back to Carlsen, ignoring Carlsen’s check to his king. And the funny part? Carlsen didn’t realize his opponent’s illegal move and moved his own king from an illegal check, therefore making an illegal move himself.
