This is a blitz chess game between Magnus Carlsen and Jeffery Xiong from Round 9 of the Early Titled Tuesday held on July 8th, 2025. The game begins with the King’s Indian Attack, as Xiong chooses a kingside fianchetto setup. The position sharpens after an f6 pawn break, and soon leads to a tactical sequence. Carlsen aims to win the exchange, but his idea turns out to be flawed. However, Xiong misses the critical chance to punish the error and turn the tables.
