This is a sharp rapid chess game between Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Gukesh D from Round 4 of the 2025 SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia. The game begins with the Nimzo-Indian, Classical Variation, where Abdusattorov chooses a forceful line that wins a pawn but leaves his king stuck in the center. After 16…Ba6, Gukesh’s light-squared bishop takes control, preventing White from castling kingside. The follow-up is especially instructive, as Gukesh coordinates on the d3-square while remaining flexible with the powerful knight on c5. A relatively quick victory with the Nimzo-Indian in only 29 moves.
