Ivanchuk Crushes the English in 25 Moves

This is a sharp and instructive chess game between Veselin Topalov and Vasyl Ivanchuk from Linares 1999. The game begins with the English Opening, Symmetrical Variation, and quickly sharpens after 5…Bb4+ and Qa5, followed by central tension with …d5. By move 11, Ivanchuk already holds a near-decisive advantage, which he converts in spectacular fashion. Crushing the English Opening this quickly is rare.
