Featured is an instructive blitz (3+2) game between Levon Aronian and Ian Nepomniachtchi from the semi-finals of the 2025 FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Team Championship, held on June 15th. The game enters a Petrov’s Defense where a battle ensues over the e4/e5 squares. After 16 moves we reach a critical position where Nepomniachtchi should have pursued a tactical operation. The approach taken however soon leads to the exchange of the strong e4-knight which mainly brings into focus the negatives associated with the d5 and f5 setup.
