Fischer’s Dark-Square Blueprint in the King’s Indian Attack

This video features a great game from the 1957/58 U.S. Chess Championship between a young Bobby Fischer and 4-time New York State Champion Arthur Feuerstein. Playing the King’s Indian Attack, Fischer follows a clear blueprint: establish a pawn on e5, push his h-pawn to h6 to create a hole on the f6 square, and then aim all nearly every piece on that weak square. It’s a simple but powerful strategy that helped him win the game.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
