Featured is an excellent chess game between Judit Polgar and Viswanathan Anand from Wijk aan Zee, 1998. The early and middlegame out of a Sicilian Najdorf revolve around a tense positional battle for control of the critical d5-square. Polgar eventually plants a knight on the outpost, where it is a constant menace in Anand’s position. As the board opens on both flanks, her major pieces coordinate perfectly with the dominant knight. The game concludes with Polgar showcasing her tactical precision with a beautiful finishing combination.
