Featured is a beautiful chess game between Alexander Beliavsky and Garry Kasparov from 1988. Out of the Grunfeld Defense, Kasparov chooses the Prins variation in response to Beliavsky’s Russian variation. Play sharpens after Beliavsky brings it to an opposite sides castles game. After Beliavsky’s sacrifice on Kasparov’s kingside, we observe many brilliant replies by Kasparov that defend accurately while also looking for counterattacks. Kasparov’s play in this dynamic battle registered a 99% accuracy!
