Lasker’s Bishops Blast Bauer in the Bird’s

Featured is a classic chess game between Emanuel Lasker and Johann Hermann Bauer from Amsterdam 1889. Out of of the Bird’s Opening we observe crushing piece play with both of Lasker’s Bishops working in tandem on open diagonals towards the black kingside. Lasker’s queen knight maneuver to eliminate Bauer’s king knight sparks the beautiful finishing combination.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
