Bobby Fischer’s Game Becomes A Cake

At age 20, Bobby Fischer won the 1963–64 US Championship with 11 wins in 11 games, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. In this video I am covering one of his games from that tournament which was played in round 10 against Pal Benko! A marvelous game where in Pirc defense Fischer goes for a rook sacrifice which not only block’s the f-pawn’s further advancement but also demoralizes the whole black army! A classical example of a block which will live forever!
P.S. At the post-tournament celebration held in honor of Fischer’s sensational victory a replica of a chessboard (complete with pieces) was made out of cake and icing. The position used was from this game showing move 19. Rf6!
