Alien Gambit: Traps, Ideas, Refutation · Caro-Kann Opening Theory

The Alien Gambit is bad. Losing even. As long as you Know how to refute it! It has been played 160000 times on lichess, and white has an astonishing 60% win rate! That’s very strange considering that the engine says Black is winning, and, more importantly, since it’s very easy to play against this nonsensical piece sac and refute it.

This video is a tutorial on how to try to win with the Alien Gambit, and how to refute it with Black if you play the Caro-Kann and someone tries it against you.
