Morphy’s Philidor Gambit crushes Meek with TWO fishing poles

Featured is a chess miniature between Paul Morphy and Alexander Meek from 1855. Out of the King’s Gambit, Philidor Gambit, Meek pursues the bait and blunders as early as move 7. This blunder is, according to the lichess database, most popular and played 31% of the time out of nearly 10,000 games! Morphy never lets Meek off the hook from move 7 onward, and even sets up a second fishing pole with the bait accepted yet again. The final position is aesthetically pleasing, with only two completely opened files and Morphy’s majors dominating both.
