I faced the von Hennig Gambit, a gambit I had no idea existed. I had no prep against it and was terrified I was gonna lose in 10 moves. This was my round 7 of the Dubrovnik Advent Open 2024; https://chess-results.com/tnr991529.aspx?lan=1

My preparation in the Queen’s Gambit isn’t good. This game was a Tarrasch Defense, where I’d feel comfortable in almost all main line positions. But my opponent chose to play the von Hennig Gambit. A sideline in the Schara Gambit which I’ve never heard of and obviously had no idea what to do against it. I improvised and got a bad position. This is a strong gambit!
