I played my first Sicilian in a serious tournament game! It was a league game, so I risked a lot since it was a team competition. I have to say it felt very odd not to play c6. But I’m happy I finally got the courage to play something other than the Caro-Kann.

This setup with f3 and g4 and quick queenside castles is very dangerous. It can be used against some Siclians, but against the Pirc and Modern it’s especially useful.
