I don’t think I’ve ever played a more thrilling tournament in my life! The Zagreb Cup is a team competition played on four boards, and whoever wins gets to qualify for the finals of the Croatian Cup!

This was the first team competition I played for my new team, ŠK Ina, and I wanted to do well. I wanted us to qualify for the finals and travel to Lošinj to play the best teams in Croatia. We’re a small team with no professionals and no grandmasters, so that would be a huge achievement!

Round 1 did not go well for me. I ended up blundering the game away in the opening, and was losing very quickly. Luckily for me, my teammates played well and we ended up winning the match anyway.
