Judit Polgar tames the Accelerated Dragon

Featured is the chess game between Judit Polgar and Antonio Granero Roca from the Superstars Hotel Bali 2002. Polgar’s weapon of choice against the Sicilian, Accelerated Dragon is the Maróczy Bind. With Polgar’s grip over d5, black should look for opportunities to break with b5. Roca’s plan to apply pressure to c4 with pieces loses control of the center. Polgar is quick to exploit this error, although black along the way was not without chances to equalize via piece sacrifices.
