Viktor Korchnoi tames young Spassky’s Dragon in 12 moves

Featured is the 1st chess game between 17-year-old Viktor Korchnoi and 11-year-old Boris Spassky from Leningrad, 1948. In this 12-move encounter with Spassky choosing the Sicilian Dragon and Korchnoi choosing the Levenfish variation, a few important notes ultimately surface. Ensure you double/triple check continuations where you subject one of your pieces to a defensive role. Don’t be in a rush to resign. Make sure you’ve considered all possibilities. Don’t underestimate the value of a check.
