Strategy and planning in the Caro-Kann · Training Game

A thematic Caro-Kann middlegame with loads of instructive patterns and middlegame ideas, especially when it comes to the critical e5 square.

It was the Exchange Caro-Kann, and a very tame line too, where white plays h3 and doesn’t take on f5, doubling black’s pawns and allowing a double-edged attacking position. We got into a typical CK endgame with two rooks each. It was dead equal.
