I faced a very aggressive player who’d decided to mate me whatever the cost, giving up pieces, and trying to get to my unsafe king on g8.

I just kept taking everything and, despite having missed several key ideas, managed to find them eventually to stop the attack and have a decisive material advantage. Back to training!
