Petrosian punishes Pachman in 21-moves

Featured is the game between Tigran Petrosian and Ludek Pachman from the 1961 Bled tournament. After Petrosian placed a pawn in Pachman’s camp, the battle began. Petrosian’s invasive pawn was immediately challenged, with Pachman’s queen somewhat exposed to attack. A critical moment emerged when Petrosian applied pressure to c5. What followed was an assault on the black queen on the queenside and a bolt from the blue on the kingside, resulting in an aesthetic 21-move game.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
