Isabelle Choko, The French Women’s Chess Champion, details her time growing up in the German camps in occupied Poland during World War II of Auschwitz and how that time playing chess impacted her life years later after she was liberated. Isabelle describes how she’s had to continually overcome obstacles to become the French female chess champion in 1956.
