Day 4 of the Armageddon Series Asia & Ocenia was epic! In the battle of the prodigies between Gukesh and Abdusattorov, two draws from superior positions forced Abdusattorov to try and confirm the trend in Armageddon, but Gukesh showed nerves of steel, improved on a game of his compatriot Vidit to make the most of his white pieces, played quickly, and never let go of the exchange. His Armageddon game was the best of the match, and he went through! The other match between Parham Maghsoodloo and Vladimir Kramnik saw former World Champion give his younger opponent no chance, as Kramnik was both times up on the clock and unrattled by Parham’s attempts to muddy the waters. 2-0 here!
