Caro-Kann destroyed. It was really hard to show this game, recover from it, and keep playing in the tournament. Congratulations to my opponent for playing a really nice attacking game, exploiting my mistakes with ruthless precision.
He played the Tal variation against my Caro-Kann, and I went into a passive position, which isn’t unlikely for the opening, but, in order to activate it, I chose to play a common pawn break at a really poor moment, undeveloped and unprepared. And I got smashed. This is how you beat a poor Caro-Kann.
