This variation is a treat for Caro-Kann players. I’m always happy when I see it played against me. The Caro-Kann is my favorite opening. No contest. I love playing it and almost always get comfortable, equal positions with black, which I can play for gaining a small advantage eventually. In this game my opponent chose a line which allows black to have a strategic edge from the start. If you know how to play against it, you should never be worse.
