Blindness in chess · Road to GM, Game 235

I faced a strong IM in round 1 of Limone Piemonte Open. We played the complicated Reynolds Attack in the Meran Semi-Slav, a position in which one mistake could mean the end of the game.

He started attacking me, and I, having an uncomfortable but equal position, missed something so unbelievable, that explaining why that happened simply cannot be done. i just don’t know. I had to respond to a tactical threat, and failed to do so correctly because i didn’t see that my knight was defending my queen. And so I lost.
