how to win your middlegames (part 1)

new series on middlegames and general non-opening stuff! The book I am using is Jeremy Silman’s How to Reassess Your Chess (4th Edition). If you like this kind of content, please let me know ❤️

A short summary was actually made by an awesome member of the community:

– assess imbalances

– pawn structures are the “soul” of chess, we can have a “static” (locked) pawn structure, or a “dynamic” (open) pawn structure

– figure out how to take advantages of imbalances, example: open files, passed pawns, backward pawns, isolated pawns, active bishops versus active knights, knight outposts

– the overall theme was about assessing space advantages
