Duras Gambit Is Named After Him But That’s A Different Story

1. e4 f5 is called the Duras Gambit in Unorthodox Chess Openings, and is also known as the Fred Defence. This is a pawn sacrifice which gives Black a lead in development after 2.exf5 Nf6, but without much additional compensation for the sacrificed pawn and is considered to be a disadvantageous line for Black!
Finding good quality games from this opening is a difficult task since strong players are avoiding this opening, that’s why decided to stop on this wonderful game played by Duras against Vojtech VIk!!
