Zugzwang positions and solutions most often occur in studies and compositions and we spot them easily. But when they come up in our own games we tend to miss them. We simply fail to think deeply enough and to look for unconventional solutions to problems. Positions like today’s endgame problem should make you more likely to think imaginatively during real games too!
