A weird surprise against the Caro-Kann · Training Game

Another game in a dubious variation I’ve never seen before. The Spike Caro-Kann?!

So again, like in the last training game (https://youtu.be/g75AHw0CE58), I was completely unprepared. This time though, I managed to react well and punished the bad opening. It wasn’t as smooth until the end though:D

I know many things white can go for against the Caro-Kann. It’s been my main defense against e4 ever since I started playing chess. I have never seen 2.g4?? though. This, apparently known as the Spike Variation, is supposed to prevent Bf5 I guess. I will study it in detail to make sure it never happens in a real game without me being fully prepared:D
