In Hands Of Mikhail Tal Solid French Defense Looks Like Aggressive King’s Gambit

Rovner vs Tal
In the early stage of his career Mikhail Tal was frequently using French defense which has a reputation of a solid opening, but soon he turned to a more dynamic Sicilian defense! In this game despite the cramped and defensive nature of French defense we see a very active attack from Black’s side which destroys White’s king-side! Tal makes an exchange sacrifice thus emphasizing the vulnerability of White’s position! Needless to say that in upcoming complex positions Tal was better and quickly prevailed! In the end of the video as usual you can solve the daily chess puzzle!
