Garry Kasparov – Yuri Averbakh
Simul 1974
Exchange Ruy Lopez

Most players face serious opposition, let alone grandmasters at a much later age. Kasparov played against Averbakh when he was 11! Not only that, he defeated him in a game which looked very one sided. You couldn’t know who was the World Championship Candidate, and the USSR Champion, and who was the 11 year old kid with almost no tournament experience.
