You can learn Chess. Karpov proves that World Champions were once human too.

Anatoly Karpov at the age of 10. You can see that he was to become a chess monster. But at this point he was a long way from playing his immortal games and positional binds which are to make him famous.

This the third game in this series was played in Karpov’s home town of Zlatoust in 1961, when he was 10. He faced an unknown player in an Exchange French which was anything but boring.

I think this game is great proof that chess is a skill you learn, and that you don’t have to be born a super talented chess genius to be a good player. Karpov was progressing rapidly. When he was starting out he couldn’t have been stronger than 2000elo.

His play was imperfect, but still beautiful though!
