Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian – Kopelevic,
Tbilisi 1942
Ruy Lopez, Closed, Chigorin Transposition

This is the second ever recorded game played by the world champion Tigran Petrosian. He was white in a closed Ruy Lopez against a less known player. The game was extremely interesting from a positional and theoretical perspective.

Especially the end of the game, which showed the true danger of weakening a color complex beyond repair!
