This is the first video in what is going to be a loooong series on one of the strongest and longest reigning world champions – Garry Kasparov. I will be analyzing all his classical tournament games. That way I will hopefully cover many less known games, many of his draws and defeats too.

The idea of the series is to learn from Kasparov’s style of play. By analyzing many of his games, we should pick up a bit of his brilliance.

The first recorded tournament game was his game against Elmar Magerramov played in Baku in 1973. At the time he was 10 years old. He had black in a Paulsen Sicilian. Elmar Magerramov was born in 1958, so he was only 15 at the time. He went on to become a GM himself. He was also a FIDE Senior Trainer, winner of the Andorra Open 1990, 2nd in the last USSR championship 1991, winner in Bad Wörishofen 1993 (the last tournament I played before the quarantine:D), winner of the UAE Open, etc., so a clash between two strong juniors!
