This week’s endgame video is the last one in the series on opposite colored bishop endgames. In part three I have gone over positions in which the pawns are three files apart. These endgames are generally winning, but there are exceptions to that.
Another thing is that when they are winning, they can be hellishly hard to win because the technique required to win is anything but easy.
Knight and bishop files:
– the further back the knight pawn is,
easie it is to win
– if the knight pawn is on the 7th, the
defender may be able to defend
Central and rook files are winning with
proper technique – outflanking!
