Today I played the fifth game of the new training cycle and the goal to reach 2100 on lichess classical by the end of November. This time the goal is thought through more thoroughly. I have enough time, and I will be analyzing all the games in detail before playing a new one.

Before this game my stats were:

Games played: 4
Result: +2 =2 -0
Rating: +6
Rating until goal completion: 2071/2100 =29

Today I faced the French Defense, and for the first time ever chose not to fight it with the Tarrasch. I played a very dynamic variation with queenside castling after which it’s anything but a boring Exchange French most people are used to.

After a few small mistakes I had a better position. At one point significantly better, on GM level winning. Then I played one very bad move which allowed my opponent activity, a trade of queens and to win a pawn. I got compensation though, and the position got very sharp!
