I’m back in Zagreb after 10 days in Berlin. I played a 9 round Swiss Open called Lichtenrader Herbst. I went there because Valerio, who is a patron in the Fischer tier, plays for the club that organizes the event and he also played.

I will tell you how the tournament went as I cover the games, so that I don’t spoil anything now.

I will just say that I wanted to use this tournament to test and solidify my new opening repertoire. I am trying to start playing more than one opening after more than three years of having the same repertoire which everyone knows and against which it’s very easy to prepare.
