A game in which I managed to pull of an incredible swindle by tricking my opponent. To quote Ben Finegold: “Tricks are for kids!”

First of all, let me apologize for not recording for several days. I took a break to clear my head and to rest before the upcoming tournament. Now I’m back, and I will be training and recording like mad until it starts!
Today I played a league game against a slightly weaker opponent. We played the KIA, and I went for the reversed London System, as I usually do. I played well in the opening, and managed to induce a structural weakness in his position. I also had better minor pieces because I traded off his knights and left him with two bad bishops.
After that, after getting a better position which I had to build my advantage on, I started playing like a patzer. A few bad moves and I was worse. A few more and I was losing. At that moment I remembered what Matej often tells me: “If you’re lost, play for tricks! Mess the position up!” So I did that. I sacrificed a knight to open his king up. Needless to say, it was a bad sac. But it worked! He made a few inaccurate moves and then blundered a simple checkmate!
