I Finally Played Well (81 points/4 days to go) | Training Game(s)

Two training games played on my quest to reach 2100 on lichess classical by the end of September!

Today I played two games because the first one was short. I played lower rated opponents in both because I couldn’t get stronger ones through the filtered search.

The first game was in the early e3 Colle/Quiet Slav. I had an advantage from a very early stage because my opponent wasted time on h3 and a3. The second game was tougher.

My opponent went for the English Defense (also known as Owen’s) and I misplayed the opening. I developed my knight to c3 early on only to move it away and block my bishop in anticipation of his c5 break. So I spent a couple of tempi for nothing and was worse. But I managed to play well in the French structure with a space advantage provided by my pawn on e5. I finally played training games in which I didn’t miss tactics!
