In the early games AlphaZero was quite enthusiastic about playing the French defense but after two hours began to play it less and less turned to Caro-Kann and finally stopped on Berlin defense! As you know Berlin defense is considered to be a reliable solid weapon for Black but is very often avoided by White due to it’s “drawish nature”. Nowadays White is usually avoiding the line with queen exchanges but what is interesting in this game Aronian goes for that same line (l’Hermet Variation) because he had some nice home preparations. This game was played in round 6 at 2019 Grand Chess Tour Croatia and in this video I am covering the game played between Levon Aronian and Sergey Karjakin! In the end of the video as usual you can solve the daily puzzle!
