Sicilian Defense: Kan Variation

The Kan Variation in the Sicilian Defense starts out with the moves:
1.e4 c5
2.Nf3 e6
3.d4 cxd4
4.Nxd4 a6

Black prevents an early intrusion of Nb5 and allows for black to eventually push on the queen side with b5. This is one of the more solid lines in the Sicilian Defense and one that all players should have in their quiver.
