Anand Goes For A Fantastic Queen Sacrifice Against Russian Businessman

Viswanathan Anand sacrifices his queen in an exhibition game played against Russian businessman and chess maecenas Oleg Skvortsov. It all started at 2017 Korchnoi Zurich Chess Challenge where an exhibition game was played between the main sponsor of the event Russian businessman, chess maecenas Oleg Skvartsov and the 15th World Chess Champion Vishwanathan Anand. The game was played in a rapid time control with a time odds, Skvortsov had 40 minutes for all moves plus a 20-second increment, while Anand had 20 minutes and the same increment. Skvortosv who doesn’t have an official FIDE rating is a player with around 2300 strength and in his active playing days was known to be a great attacker!
