It always feels nice to go back in time and see some beautiful games from the past. Today we are going to travel back 19 years, and see a game played by the legendary Garry Kasparov against Sergei Movsesian in 2000. The game is quite popular and is known for Kasparov’s fantastic exchange sacrifice at move 13 in the Sicilian Scheveningen Variation.
A critical position arrived 10 moves after Kasparov’s exchange sacrifice in an effort to destroy White’s king safety, and then Kasparov brilliantly won the game. Watch the video analysis by RCA Academy Manager Aggelos Kesaris.
